It all started with the sauce. Bob and JJ had an idea for a BBQ sauce line and needed a logo, packaging design, and a website to sell their sauce online. Within two years, the success of their "sauce and stuff" had blossomed and they decided to expand their business to include a restaurant in downtown Dodgeville, WI.
The client wished a logo for their BBQ sauce line that "did not have pigs." It needed to say "BBQ" without looking like all the other logos in the market. They wished it to be graphic, simple, and flexible enough to work on all types of materials, print and web.
Working with the client in initial brainstorm sessions, we developed the tagline "so good you'll lick your napkin™." From there the "splatter" plate logo was born. The typeface chosen was bold like their sauces, yet clean and simple enough to read at all sizes. From there, the sauce bottle labels were born with a color scheme for each flavor that has expanded into a full palatte in the restaurant decor. From the print pieces to the website, the Bob's Bitchin' BBQ brand has a cohesive look that the client and all its customers love.
Bob's has exploded in popularity since starting out as a BBQ sauce line. Since 2012, they have grown from a small 2-man table at local farmer's markets to operating a full-scale restaurant and bar that has served over 250,000 hungry customers.
We are thrilled to continually be a key part in expanding their brand. So far we have created two websites, one with eCommerce functionality, an identity package, menus, signs, window graphics, a plethora of t-shirts and hats, a wall map, email newsletters, ads, coupons and flyers, glassware, pens, a growing Facebook presence, and a full line-up of bottle labels...
They say running a restaurant is never-ending... and we would agree. But it's worth it!
